Vintage wedding details are definitely one of the most frequent themes you’ll find while scrolling through the Wedding pages on Pinterest. While I wouldn’t say it’s my absolute favourite detail, I love touches of vintage pieces throughout events. My dear friend Blair did a beautiful job of this at her wedding by creating a backdrop at her reception made of vintage doors and new and old frames. I found this book at Homesense and thought I’d share my thoughts.
This beautiful, glossy-paged hardcover features multiple vintage wedding themes like The Great Gatsby and a Circus style affair plus brief profiles for the happy couples. The book includes a lovely forward by Elizabeth Demos, her tips, and great DIY projects.
My Favourite Pages:
Each page has very pretty flat-lay photos to suit each of the different themes that make for great page-flipping.
There are some awesome projects in this book ranging from easy to intermediate difficulty. Even if some of these projects won’t suit your wedding, there’s some great gift ideas. I’m planning on making the vintage map wrapped candles for a few of my travel-obsessed friends for Christmas. This project is one of my favourites and a super cute way to combine DIY and fresh flowers.
I love how this book includes a destination wedding and an elopement. Sometimes I find wedding books can stick a little too closely to the idea of a traditional wedding. Kudos Demos!
Pick up this book if:
You love DIY projects
All things vintage are your weakness
You’re looking for a cute coffee table book
You prefer glam modern weddings (I will say while the themes are different, most of these weddings have a similar aesthetic. If you’re not sold after a quick browse this book probably won’t reflect your style)
An afternoon with a glue-gun is your description of hell
